Good morning, everyone.
Distinguished guests, teachers, friends, and all those who are here today,
Today, we gather to commemorate the International Day of Non-Violence, a day that reminds us of the importance of peace, compassion, and respect for one another.
Non-violence is not simply the absence of fighting. It is a way of life. It means choosing dialogue instead of anger, understanding instead of hatred, and kindness instead of revenge. It teaches us that we can face differences without hurting one another.
This day is also closely associated with Mahatma Gandhi, who showed the world that courage does not always come from strength or weapons. Sometimes, the greatest courage is the ability to remain peaceful, stand for what is right, and refuse to respond to hatred with hatred.
Violence can take many forms. It can happen through physical actions, hurtful words, bullying, discrimination, and even online harassment. Therefore, creating a peaceful world is not only the responsibility of leaders or governments. It is the responsibility of each one of us.
We can begin with small actions: listening to others, respecting different opinions, helping those in need, apologizing when we make mistakes, and choosing our words carefully. Every peaceful action, no matter how small, can make a difference.
Let us remember that peace begins with ourselves. If we want to see a world without violence, we must first become people who choose peace in our daily lives.
On this International Day of Non-Violence, let us make a commitment to reject violence, promote understanding, and spread kindness wherever we go.
Together, we can build a world where differences are respected, conflicts are solved peacefully, and every person can live with dignity and hope.
Let us choose peace. Let us choose kindness. Let us choose non-violence.
Thank you.
Good morning, and may peace be with us all.
